# Change password

*Applicable to standalone solutions only*

You can change the password you use to access the Admin panel. It's recommended that you change your password regularly for security purposes.

To change your password:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
Go to **Security Settings** in the menu.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
On the **Change Password** tab, do the following:

* In the **Current password** field, enter your current password.
* In the **New password** field, enter a new password.

  The new password must meet the following criteria:

  * At least **8 characters** long
  * Includes **1 uppercase letter**
  * Includes **1 number**
  * Includes **1 special character**: `! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) - _ } { . +`
* In the **Confirm password** field, re‑enter the new password.

The password fields are masked with asterisks. To view the entered password, click the **eye** icon on the right side of each field.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Click **Next**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
If two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled for your profile, enter the verification code sent to your email or generated in your authenticator app (such as **Google Authenticator**) to confirm the password change.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

If all the fields are valid and the current password is correct, your password is updated.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.b2copy.b2broker.com/admin-panel-guide/manage-security-settings/change-password.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
