Assign a risk limit to a subscription

Learn how to assign a risk limit to a subscription to automatically terminate it when losses exceed the specified amount and protect investors from significant losses

To help investors limit potential losses from their subscriptions, you can assign a risk limit to each subscription.

The risk limit is the maximum loss amount that an investment account can bear from an individual subscription. If the assigned risk limit is exceeded, the subscription will be automatically terminated.

Assign a risk limit to a subscription:

1

Go to Investment Platform and expand the required platform instance.

2

For copy-trading subscriptions, go to B2COPY > Subscriptions. For MAM subscriptions, go to Mam > Subscriptions. For PAMM subscriptions, go to Pamm > Subscriptions.

3

Select a subscription, and click Edit.

4

In the Loss Limit (Max loss amount) field, enter the maximum loss amount.

Risk limits for subscriptions are always denoted in the currency in which the subscribed investment account is denominated. ‍ A risk limit can be specified as a positive or negative value (such as 500 or -500). In either case, it represents a loss on the investment account.

If the risk limit assigned to the subscription is exceeded, all the open positions allocated to the investment account from this subscription are closed, and the fees listed in the fee plan for the subscription are charged. After that, the investment account is unsubscribed from the master account.
